Quick verdict
The OXO Double Jigger is a sensible small purchase if its six marked ounce quantities match the drinks you make and you like filling and tipping a two-sided measure. Keep a suitable mini measuring cup if it already covers your recipes. Buy for the marked sizes and handling—not simply because a jigger looks like professional barware.

Which option fits your routine?
| Choice | Choose it for | Tradeoff |
|---|---|---|
| OXO Double Jigger | Repeated small ounce measures | Requires choosing the correct side and line |
| Mini measuring cup | Reading a small quantity in one vessel | Different pouring and viewing position |
| Existing measuring spoons | Occasional recipe quantities they cover | Several transfers may be needed |
Six measures, not every possible measure
OXO lists 1/3 ounce, 3/4 ounce and 1 1/2 ounces on one side, and 1/4 ounce, 1/2 ounce and 1 ounce on the other. Its stainless steel body has a soft grip around the centre. The listed overall dimensions are 2.3 × 2.3 × 2.9 inches, and the maker labels it dishwasher safe.
This matters when comparing it with a common two-ounce/one-ounce jigger. The OXO is not that size combination. Check the actual recipe quantities before buying so you do not discover that your most frequent measure always needs multiple fills.
Why a two-sided tool can be convenient
One side can be filled and tipped directly into a mixing vessel, with the central grip providing a place to hold it. For repeated drinks using the marked quantities, that can be a tidy routine. For someone who constantly changes recipes or works mainly in millilitres, a differently marked measure may be more convenient.
We have not independently checked calibration, spill resistance or pouring speed. A metal body and clear product photographs do not prove a precise result in use. Select the correct marked line and use an appropriate measuring technique rather than treating a full-looking vessel as a known quantity.
Check the unit system in the exact listing
U.S., Canadian and imported listings can describe bar tools differently. Confirm the markings on the item you will receive, especially if your recipes use millilitres and the product information emphasises ounces. Do not assume every vessel described as a “shot” holds the same amount.
This is also why an ordinary unmarked drinking glass is a poor comparison for recipe measurement. If you already own a small clearly marked kitchen measure that fits the quantities, it remains a valid alternative. You do not need a specialised bar tool merely to follow a simple drink recipe.
Think through a complete drink before adding accessories
Start with one recipe and list the jobs: measure, mix, strain if required, and serve. A jigger handles measurement only. It does not replace a shaker, and a shaker’s cap does not necessarily include all the quantities on this double jigger.
Conversely, a shaker kit can include a measure you already like. Buying a second one may add nothing. Check what comes with equipment you own, then fill the actual gap rather than buying a matched set for appearance alone.
Cleaning and storage
Follow the supplied care instructions and wash the food-contact surfaces after use, particularly after sticky ingredients. The two bowls and centre grip should dry before storage. A compact product can still be inconvenient if it rolls beneath larger utensils or is hard to find.
Find a visible, accessible spot with the other tools you use for drinks. Keeping one functional measure close at hand is more useful than owning several overlapping designs in different drawers. We have not conducted a long-term wear test of the grip or markings.
Who should buy—and our verdict
Buy the OXO if you regularly use its marked sizes, want a grip between two measuring bowls, and have no equivalent tool already. Skip it if you chiefly need a two-ounce measure, prefer another unit system, or find a mini jug easier to read and pour.
For occasional home drinks, use an existing suitable measure first. The OXO is our conditional upgrade for a repeated ounce-based routine, not a universal winner. The correct measurements and a comfortable method are more important than the material, brand or size of a barware collection.
